After being a Vodacom client for the last 15 years or so an occurrence recently has changed my mind about them forever. All you do is talk to disinterested people who are not concerned about your problem and that after searching for the right person to help they do not come back with the conclusive evidence. I decided that due to a much better deal with another supplier upon the end of my contract with Vodacom I would port my number. I did this last Monday (1st) and after trying 2 twice it would not work. I was told to go to Vodacom to sort it out as this was the only answer. I went to Vodaworld and waited in a queue for an hour and a half to see someone, who then told me that my number was deleted as this was my instruction on a call to me on the 26th Feb. I spoke to a young lady somewhere else who said that my call would be played back to me within 24 hrs. I used my wife's cell phone number. I am still waiting for this call. I was also told that I would be liable for a R290 reconnection fee. This I will not do as it was not my instruction to delete my number. I am a self- employed individual who is now struggling as I have had no phone for a week and don't know what to do.
