Unable to get a line transferred!

So we've tried to ask nicely, but clearly that's not something Telkom understands. We got a booking for a technician to come out to install the line, which is something that takes weeks to organise. Late in the afternoon we get through to him to ask what time he'll be there. No he says, he's already been there but no-one answered the phone to let him in. What number did you call we ask, here he claims some completely random cell number. Obviously, he just wasn't keen to come out to do the work and sucked some excuse out of his thumb. The above, has now HAPPENED TWICE. Today is supposed to be the 3rd appointment for him to come out to do the installation. My wife tried to go through the maze that is Telkom's telephone help system and kept getting put through to one department after the other just so that she can try to explain the whole thing again. How utterly pathetic can one company's service be? Because you are sitting on a nice monopoly and partly government owned, you think you can just give that kind of service to paying customers? PATHETIC. WHEN WILL THE LINE BE INSTALLED / TRANSFERRED?!?!?!
