Proof of cancellation after account settlement

I want to settle my account and when I phoned Cell C to enquire about this, they said I can pay the full amount.
and when i asked them if they will send me a proof of cancellation after I've settled the account they said they cannot send it to me. I wont settle the account until i get surety that Cell C will send me a proof that they have cancelled the account after I've settled it.
