One day after an MTN contract upgrade with sim swap at Cape Rd, PE, I received the messag: no service on my phone. This was 20h52 on a Friday. On Saturday I tried to find out what the fault could be via google. Saturday evening I called the call centre when they informed me that it was a 64k sim and I needed at least 128k. 9h00 the next day I visited MTN store to find out a sim swap has taken place: after hours @ Phigerton T/A Cell&Satelite Three Rivers Vereeniging with my ID, reason: lost sim! I was in cpt, no lost sim! It was clearly and on Monday it was reported. It is a week later and NOBODY from MTN unit has contacted me. A direct result of the sim swap was that R97000 was transfered from my ABSA accounts to Capitec accounts, and from there to 15 other Capitec accounts from where ATM withdrawals took place. MTN is directly responsible for and, but doesn't respond to my queries. How do they explain the fact that exactly similar transactions, with same role players have taken place on 12/72012 and August 2012 and nothing was done to prevent it from happening again? MTN may not get away with this. MTN employee admitted that is must be an "inside job". Help
