In late August 2012 while away I received an SMS from Telkom advising that they were 'upgrading' services in my area - Durban North - asked us to be patient etc. OK. I was away for 3 weeks during this and on my return found that my landline was totally dead. Reported it obviously and within 2 days it was fixed. I must compliment the technician who does come on callouts as very good. I then telephoned Accounts with the facts and fault reference number and asked for a refund for the time the landline and my DSL line was down. A month later I received a portion of the DSL line credit, nothing for the landline. In spite of numerous phone calls and promises, emails on their Website - and DONT ever expect a response from that source - I am still waiting for that credit AND in the meantime am being HARASSED literally on the day that phone account is due with threatening SMS's and phone calls of being SUSPENDED for being in arrears!!
Arrears, people, are we not paying in ADVANCE for landline and DSL line rental. Oh yes, and has anyone picked up on their policy of 'rounding' - the shops 'round out' back to nearest 5c Telkom are rounding FORWARD to next 5 cents. Big bucks
