I have two Pay as you Go Vodacom SIM's, I've been with Vodacom for over approximately 15 years now. I spend extended periods overseas but always keep my SIM's topped up, active and with Roaming as I need to use them from overseas sometimes too. I went into a Vodacom store before leaving the country (as I do every time before I leave) to check how frequently one must use your SIM in order to stop it becoming inactive and was told 12 months. After about 8 months tried using my SIM's and both not working. Contacted Vodacom Customer Care who advise inactivity starts after 7 months so Vodacom have stopped both my numbers and the credit that was on them.
I escalated this within the Customer Care team and was passed to Leon Bezuidenhout who offered no assistance and used delay tactics to try get rid of me, then escalated it to his Supervisor Ismael Jattiem who once again is using delay tactics and not replying to my emails.
I have lost my cell numbers that I have had for over 15 years, my credit has been by Vodacom and they simply string me along and try and make it as difficult for me as possible by not responding, leaving me stranded, overseas with no contact numbers!
