UNABLE TO GET OUT OF EXPIRED CONTRACT

A 3G account expired in October or November 2013. I tried to terminate it in April 2013 when the service became unusable. Also in September/October to ensure the billing stops at expiry date. Also subsequently with emails to MTN SP and via the web. I received acknowledgement of my complaints to MTN, but still, yesterday, another amount was taken out of my account.
I tried to stop the MTN deductions at the bank, but they can't. I tried to call MTN but my pre-paid MTN phone connects me only to services that is meaningless in this case. Not possible to raise an operator from my pre-paid phone.
How can one stop MTN taking money from my account in what may be an illegal operation? How does one terminate an expired account without going through additional expenses to do the same?
