I phoned 808 regarding a billing query after I was mislead by an agent who told me that nothing is due on my account. The complaint gave rise when I got an sms from MTN notifying that my account is not up to date and needs to be paid, firstly I phoned MTN on 03/01/14 and spoke to an agent, Thabo Mahlango and he told me that nothing is due on my account for December, I even asked him to confirm and he said yes nothing is due and that I have a credit of R177 (ref 107750435). After hearing that I now owe I phoned MTN again on 23/01/14 and my call was put through to a supervisor named Ridwaan (ref 108503811), he could not believe that the agent told me that nothing is outstanding and listened to the call and then phoned me back saying I know I am supposed to pay my account and that I was not mislead but he also heard the agent saying nothing is due. I refused to pay it and he said he will phone me back, I did a follow-up on 28/01/14 and they left a message for Ridwaan, he still hasn't phoned back. I want to know how MTN is going to compensate me for the false info, credit my money or half of it and I want to know if my free minutes and sms's were used by me, please proof this.
