Telkom
Conversion to DSL taking foreve

Telecommunications

I got a new telephone with a number in December last year.
I immediately went on afrihost and asked them to convert my line to DSL.
Little did I know that this is something Telkom has to do.
Afrihost said this would take up to 30 business days.
This is already an excessive amount of time (a month and a half), but this is not the complaint.

Telkom sms'd me like they sms'd about the telephone line and told me that a technician will be coming to my house the next. I replied @Yes just like with the telephone line, but instead of a technician pitching, like with the telephone number, I was stuck at home all day waiting for no one.

This was a week day and I am not very happy about this.
I am quite frustrated.

After this day I found out that the conversion to DSL is done at the switching centre and there was no need for the technician to come to my home.
Why was I sms'd to make an appointment?
Why was is my line not converted, yet?
