Clueless on VDSL - no service

Ordered a 20mb line from Telkom on Tue 17/9 On Wed I was notified that the line had been upgraded and that I needed a VDSL modem to use the line. I purchased VDSL modem from a Telkom Direct store fro about R1, 3k. I installed the modem and ISP provider details. The modem indicated a sync speed of 15.356mb which is too low as it should be set to around 20 allowing for download speeds of about 16.6. I was getting download speeds of 11mb which is not good for a 20mb line. Browsing was fine and all worked albeit slow. Contacted Telkom to enquire about speeds and trouble started. Spoke to 5 different call centre agents as they didn't know what VDSL was and were confused about my issue. Eventually I did get someone who sent a technician to review the issue. 30 mins before the technician contacted me the ability to browse ceased and I have not been able to browse since. When the technician called me he said that my speed was fine and that he checked and told me I would never get 20mb and then hung up the phone. He checked exchange instead of msan. Escalated, no contact, no internet, called now, put on hold for 15 mins, no explanation. Calling centre & tech does not understand their product
