No signal

For the last 4 months I have to hear from JHB up to Witbank that MTN is experiencing problems with their signal. I've a S3 and advice given by help desks from various branches is that I've to remove my battery in order to get better reception when the phone starts up again., why the did I take out a contract and this quality of phone if I have to do this repeatedly on a daily basis? I'm living in Reedstream Park, halfway between two towns Ogies and Kriel in Mpumalanga. There are towers in the village but they might as well be taken off as they clearly mean nothing!!!
