On 14th April I got a new contract with 8ta. I had come from a different service provider and I wanted my number ported. They said it would take between 48 to 72 hours. A week later I left for Holland to launch a movie there, where I absolutely needed my phone to work. I was still on the 8ta number not my old number. They called me on the Friday 19th to ask if they can port & I was scared to have no number as I left the other sim in Jhb, so I said wait till Thursday when I am back. On Monday they ported my number (which is specifically what I asked them not to do) so I had no ability to connect with anyone. I arrived back in Jhb Wed night and Thurs went in to 8ta to sort it out, they said it would be, & it was not. They ported my number to the wrong phone. So for the 3 biggest events of my life, no one could contact me. When my events were over, I went in hoping they could fix it, now the number was lost so I cancelled my contract and gave back the phone. Telkom is now charging me for May, and I am so angry with this as they say my number is still active, but this is not my fault, this is the incompetence of the staff who didnt complete this. I want my money back immediately
