I noticed excessive amounts being deducted in respect of my data account. Initially, I was convinced that it was merely a mistake that would be corrected in due course. On 2 December 2013, I made call to enquire why i was billed so excessively. I was told that I was billed additionally for "content subscription". I denied having knowledge of subscribing to any such thing and wanted to know more, eg who the beneficiary was. I was told that I would be given more information within 48 hours. It did not happen. I went to the Vodacom store in Rustenburg's Waterfall mall today and was assisted by a very helpful Tshepo. I learned that I was billed extra for subscribing to Mira Networks!! I had no idea who they were. My question to you, Vodacom, is: how could you abuse access to my bank account and let Mira benefit without having authorisation to pay my money over to them?? As a result I decided to end my 12year relationship with Vodacom today and moved my cellphone account to another service provider and will also end the data contract very soon.
