Being charged for a new faulty phone

I ordered an iPhone 4 online when I saw they were advertising a special. They delivered me the phone which turned out to be faulty. When I then tried to return the phone (through various methods) I was told they don't take phones back, they repair phones. They therefore would not replace the faulty phone. I now am still in possession with the faulty phone, brand new in its box and to make matters worse they have extended my contract and are charging me more than the special indicated online. I have numerous email correspondence trying to resolve the matter and vodacom refuse to assist. I want them to take back their faulty phone and cancel this contract so I can get a new phone and refund me OR for them to replace the faulty phone.
