Contract cancelled still being billed

Got an sms regarding my contract will be coming to an end on the 8th December and I phoned Mtn to say I will not be carrying on with the contract after the end date and was told it would be cancelled. Got my bill through email a few days later and I saw the contract is still active and not cancelled, being charged R380. I will not be paying this amount as I gave my notice and was told it would not carry on. Since my last payment on the 17th December I have destroyed the sim card and sold the phone as I was done with the contract. Please could you cancel this contract ASAP and remove the R380 as I will not pay this for a service I did not condone.
