Extenion of a contrat without my concern

I was approached telephonically by Telkom mobile to purchase a cellphone. I was told that the contract is a 2 year contract and this was a telesales so everything was done telephonically and there after the phone was delivered to me. I paid my phone for 2 years and after 2.years I realized that they were still deducting and I changed my banking details. Now they have sent the account to a debt collector saying I owe them R1 600 because It was my duty to call and cancel the contract with them because otherwise the contract is automatically renewed on a monthly basis as per their Terms and conditions. Telephonically when they were selling the cell to me they did not mention that it will automatically go beyond 2 years because they wanted me to take the deal.
so watch out these telesales contracts, the catch is hidden in the Terms and conditions. You think you are signing for a 2 year contract meanwhile they know that they will keep on billing you even after 2 years stating that it is now your duty to cancel. The 2 year contract is a FAKE. Telkom Mobile you were not fair in you telephonic deal with me you did not divulge all the important information.
