Renewed contract with iPhone 5S. Returned it after 2 days due to rattling noise - a factory fault as per apple website. Was informed that there was a mandatory 5 day wait to assess the handset. Handed it in on 20/12. Was advised that they would try and resolve before Xmas day. Had heard nothing by 27/12 so telephoned the store. On 28/12 received a call from the repair centre asking for my password. It appears as if no action was taken with the cell from 20/12 until 28/12. Complained to Richard Little, the manager at the ERM store who stated that the matter was out of his hands. Was most unhelpful. Stated that the contract that I had was not with him but with Vodacom??? Pointed out that he represented Vodacom. After a lengthy discussion he stated that he could not escalate it but would ask the regional manager, Byron, to contact me. To date no contact has been made. The handset is now destined for the advanced repair centre on Monday 30/12. Said that it would probably be Thurs 2/01 before I would get further info. Unacceptable delay and unacceptable attitude of unhelpful staff at ERM Vodashop. Good service from Johan at Lakeside Repair centre when dealing with password.
