, unfair charges and they simply don't care

About 2 months ago my current, expensive phone started giving problems. I wanted it repaired as it was still under warranty. However, I did not have a replacement phone available and as I was planning to buy an iphone anyway, I put my name on the list at Tygervalley Vodacom the week before christmas (I still haven't heard anything from them). As I was not sure when exactly my warranty was going to expire, I checked with the guy in store (in December) who looked it up for me and said only in 2 months. I was a bit unsure, so I called Janine at Tygervalley and she looked it up for me with my IMEI number and confirmed it was only in February. I got tired of waiting and bought the phone from the istore on 18 Jan and handed in my old phone for repairs the same day. I was told my warranty expired 96 hours ago on 14 Jan and they will not repair the phone. Despite numerous calls and visits to stores and complaint centres the only feedback I received was "your warranty expired on 14 Jan". Somebody at vodacom has to be held liable for this.
