Early upgrades (BEWARE be VERY AWARE)

Beware when up grading existing contracts before the termination date. Vodacom staff don't mention that the old contract will still run the full duration and only then will the new contract kick in. So when doing a premature upgrade after 1 year your new contract does not supersede the old one. There for you are now in a 3 year contract with no option to get out. I wanted to change my contract to pay as you go and they quoted me R13960.00 cancellation fee.

Usually a new contract supersedes the old one and the old one is cancelled at the same time as signing the new one

We are taking this up with the National Consumer Commission so I'll try to post updates regarding this, good or bad.
