I got a sim card with data contract of 1 GB for R99 about 3 years ago. I didnt renew it, so as far as i remember the contract goes on a month to month basis. To my shock the debit order of R668 went off my account this month, when i called in to enquire why they charged me so much, i was told it's because calls were made from the sim. I was buffled because when i took the contract i specifically said it is only for data and hence i went for the data contract that came with the modem. No help from cell c, they told me to go find out who made calls from my sim card, and they promised to send me the itemised billing statement, i am still waiting. i have since terminated the account, 3 years i had the sim and no single call was made, and when i terminate the account you tell me i can put a limit of R1 for calls so that no one can make calls, but thats what i asked for when i took the contract, for a sim to be used strictly for data. Why arent measures put in place correctly the first time. now someone made calls worth R500 and you have lost me, and my family as customers forever. never ever, i dont want an unreliable line with nasty unexpected billings.
