No ADSL in Fisherhaven, Hermanus

I live in Fisherhaven, Hermanus and it feels like Nomansland. Internet coverage in Fisherhaven is terrible. Not only Telkom, but another major cellphone company also has shocking coverage in Fisherhaven.

I approached Telkom as I was keen to get Wi-Fi in my home. I was told they don't do Fisherhaven. When asked Why, they said it is not feasible for Telkom to replace the cabling in Fisherhaven to allow ADSL. Really? Not feasible. Basically, they're saying they're not prepared to spend the money.

For 10 years or more, Telkom has been spinning the same story. I asked them when they intend to sort this problem out, and was told "not anytime soon". End of story as far as Telkom is concerned. Too bad, sorry for you.

Why do residents of Fisherhaven have to be cut off from getting ADSL and Wi-Fi from Telkom - an area a mere 1.5 hours from Cape Town and 15 minutes from Greater Hermanus?? It also means other internet service providers can't do Wi-Fi in this area as they are reliant on a Telkom ADSL line.

Not impressed with good ol Telkom!
