Vodacom unable to stick to word

Last week i registered for the iPhone 5s on the Vodacom website. I was called and told the system was off so i would get a call back. I decided to call back after an hour or so. I was politely taken through the upgrade process. I requested the iPhone 5s in Grey 32GB, i was told that one was out of stock so i said i would settle for the 16GB as it didn't matter to me. I was then told that it was all successful and delivery would be made this wee, Monday or Tuesday, today, being Monday i thought id check the status online only to find the phone is now on back order. I then called the call center and was told that they don't have stock of the phone and i wont get delivery this week.
I was then told that the agent who dealt with the upgrade shouldn't have told me that it would be delivered this week.
The Vodacom call center staff need to be better trained when dealing with these sort of issues as i am expecting the new phone today or tomorrow.
