Terrible Communication and Incompetent Staff!

6 months ago I went into the Morningside MTN branch to check if my cell phone was insured. The lady assisting me assured me that I was covered. 1.5 weeks ago, my phone stopped working. I took it into the Morningside branch to get it checked out on 4th Nov 13. They told me the fastest way to get this looked at would be to take it into the Midrand repair centre myself. I was told by them that my phone was BER. I then took it back to the Morningside branch who requested I write a letter to them on a letterhead, requesting insurance to process a claim for me, which I did on Wednesday morning. I then went into MTN Morningside on the Friday, Saturday AND on Monday, only to be told on the Monday that I was not even covered!!! Why did it take A WEEK for someone to tell me I had no cover?

I spend about R3500 average on my contract a month. I assure you, I would have taken up the insurance, should the incompetent MTN staff not have told me that I was already covered. Furthermore, our company has been a firm supporter of MTN since they year they opened their doors!! You would expect better client support, wouldn't you?? Should I really have to take the brunt for an incompetent MTN employee??
