New phone line does not work properly

On 6 November, we had a new land line installed. At first it worked perfectly, but suddenly the late afternoon, we had a crossed line. And it is still like that. When phoning customer service, abd being transfered to at least five different people, I get told that new lines always gives problems the forst 24 hours. What hogwash. It was never like that.
