I was having connection problems with 8ta data so queried this with support (081183) via the 8ta Mobile Partner console. Towards the end of last month I received a notification that I was being billed R2 for 'queries'.

I didn't make the association between the two events, so fired off another query asking what the billing was for.

A few days ago I received a notification that I was being billed R3 for 'queries'.

So I guess the billing relates to asking for help.

Two things about this are absolutely sick...
1. You pay for asking for help when the service (connection or information) is inadequate.
2. You are billed even though there was no response from them to the query.

One wonders whether the 'query fee' escalates by R1 (or 50%) with each new query?

Diabolical!
