I Mrs Leanne Blom made arrangements with the Call centre to pay the remaining balance on my telkom account by the 26th October which was R365.00. I made a payment of R500.00 on that day and had a balance of R344.00 which was due on my latest bill. I only get paid on the last working day of the month and much to my surprise telkom disconnected my line. When contacting the accounts department at the call centre they advised that they will only put my adsl line on in 24 hours.when advising that this is not acceptable and my line needs to be reconnected the consultant by the name of Lebo disconnected the call.
Is this they way that consumers are dealt with in our country? I find this totally unacceptable. when a company holds the monopoly to adsl lines they take full advantage of consumers and now expect that we pay the hefty reconnection fees.
