End Of Contract Yet They Continue Invoicing Me

So I cancelled my contract it ended in August yet Virgin persist in sending me invoices. I haven't used my phone since then I opted months ago to go to another provider. When I called the other day first I was told that I had never cancelled but called about a repair. Yes, I did that was in June!!!
Then I was told that it does show that I cancelled the contract but I was asked if I'd been using the number to make calls?
WHY WOULD I VIRGIN? - I'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET OUT OF THIS CONTRACT SINCE THE DAY YOU ILLEGALLY RENEWED IT WITHOUT MY CONSENT IN MARCH 2012!!!
Never mind the fact that I always had to police my usage and account. There where so many discrepancies over the contract period. I eventually gave up.
So now I wait and if the me over again by deducting money on Friday. To be honest I'm not surprised that Virgin sent me another invoice. It's what I come to expect from them. They are seriously an unscrupulous lot.
Having this contract with them has simply been the worst service provider experience of my life.
