Failure to port my old number to new contract

I have complained about 2 weeks ago on this website about my new contract I opened at Vodacom only to find that my old number could not be ported because a new number has already been registered. I was then contacted by Vodacom who said they will resolve the issue by supplying me with a new sim card free of charge and will then activate the number (0834625341) I want to port. I have to date not received or heard anything from Vodacom. I ordered my phone and started my contract over the internet and the delivery was within a week. Why is there no communication to ensure that the customer has been helped. No tracking nr has been supplied either.
