In May of 2013, I took out a cellphone contract with Altech Autopage at Benmore. Ever since I took out this contract, there have been problems with them debiting the correct amount from my account. They either take the incorrect amount of money from my account or they do not debit me at all. On Friday 11 October 2013, I received a call from a very rude lady by the name of Nomasonto from Autopage accounts department. She was very rude and unhelpful and lacked telephone skills. She very rudely told me that next time I should read the fine print before signing. Autopage have been charging me for things that I was never told about and did not ask for. ie: Sim insurance, postage, etc... My contract is meant to be R200 per month, but I am being charged R228.49 monthly, nowhere in the contract did it say the amount of R228.49 would be debited monthly (hidden costs). I feel that my rights as a consumer have been exploited. As for Nomasonto, clearly she is in the wrong career field as she lacks basic customer service skills.
