I opened up a small business and contacted telkom to get wifi and a landline. I explained that all I want is to be able to receive calls and have a wifi hotspot for my clientele (coffee shop). What I received is not what I asked for! I got a business line which costs an arm and a leg and 10gigs data per month for myself to use. I mean really. How am I going to use all that data. How am I suppose to attract clientele? I wrote to telkom via their website and got told that all I can do is give the extremely long password to clients. That is not what I want. I want to be able to change the password at intervals. I received no response on the landline. I have been paying minimum on the account as I am paying for something I do not want and need. Now telkom has cut my line and I can not receive calls, which is murder to a small business. I am still being billed for something I do not use, the wifi and rental of a business line.
Last Sunday I went to cape Gate's telkom branch to have it sorted. The lady who 'helped me', only told me that I have to come within business hours. I am open Monday - Saturday and run my business myself. I asked her to lodge a complaint, still no reply from them.
