Selling a IP67 Rated phone

Telecommunications

Got an samsung X-cover IP67 rated phone on contract. Software started to hang and freeze en reboot by itself during calls. So sent it in, got a reply that it got dropped and has scratch marks and will cost over R2000 to fix (almost the value of the phone) The phone is designed to be dropped, dust and shock proof and even under water, states on Samsung site and got marketed that way by Vodacom

So i refused to pay and max discount was R500 and i asked and said it is the software that is the problem, Now every time a Vodacom person phones and says they will escalate it to senior management then a new person phones and i have to explain everything all over again. Now no one is phoning back, looks like they forgot or dont want to listen to a customer or even help!

Why bother selling a phone that can do this and all of that but as soon as it has a mark or scratch Vodacom goes for that option it is the customers fault especially if it a IP67 phone. It is like buying a 4x4 and you go off-roading with it and take it in for a service but then they say: No sir, warranty is voided cause it has scratch marks on it so you will have to pay. Look beyond the point, it got sent in for software!
