BATTERY AFTER 6 MONTHS WARRANTY

On 3/10/2013 I took my Samsung Note to MTN (service provider) to check why it does not charge/switch on. @ MTN (Montague Gardens) formal book-in procedure had to be followed because it was exactly 6 months and 3 weeks after I received the phone (09/03/2013). Meaning that the warranty expired! Received call from MTN to say that the battery must be replaced and cost is approx R765.00. This is unfair... the phone (a sealed unit) is R6000.00 and strange that the battery life is so short. MTN referred me to Samsung and vise versa. I paid @ MTN today for the repairs/new battery. I AM NOT HAPPY as I feel that it is strange that the battery packs up just after the warranty on the phone expired. I have 5 numbers with MTN and first number since 1997 (16 years) - Needless to say I only buy SAMSUNG! I have NEVER had a complaint or booked any repairs on any of my phones and this is the treatment I get??? Sorry to say but I am TOTALLY disappointed in both companies MTN and SAMSUNG.

I want this to be resolved asap.
