I have been a Vodacom contract customer since 1998 with no problem. I recently needed a sim swap to a micro sim so that I could use a new phone. For the first two days, everything was fine. Then suddenly I couldn't receive calls or sms's. I can still send sms's and make calls, but if somebody tries to call me they get told "the number you have dialed does not exist". I've tried using a different phone, but the message is the same, so it's not the unit. Customer care told me the sim swap had failed, but that technicians would look at it (nobody seems to know exactly what the problem is). The system says that everything is working fine, so this doesn't seem to be high on anybody's list of priorities. But I am uncontactable. I was told to wait 48 hours, but it's now been 5 days and the problem has not been resolved. Technicians say that it's my phone or I have changed a setting on my phone, but the message is the same in other phones too. It's not the phone and it's not my fault - the problem started with the sim swap and needs to be corrected on the Vodacom system, but nobody seems to know how.
