Cell C
Defective phone not replaced

Telecommunications

I purchased an LG Optimus L5 on the first of April 2013 on a Top up 100 contract. The phone worked fine for the first 3 weeks. Suddenly the phone started losing time randomly with or without the automatic update function activated. Initially i thought it was a technical glitch that would sort itself out and ignored the problem. However the problem persisted. I took the phone back to the store where I was told that they can only send the phone in for repairs and if the problem cannot be fixed then i would receive a new handset. I then sent my phone in and for repairs which takes 21 days, the time during which i had the inconvenience of not having a phone as there was no loan phone in store for me to lend. Nevertheless, I got the phone back after 3 weeks and was told that according to the report the issue had been sorted out and that my phone is fully functonal again. Much to my dismay, 3 weeks down the line the phone stared giving the same problem and not only that, the battery started malfunctioning - not lasting a full day and heating up even without me using it. I took the phone back to the store where i was told that theres nothing that they can do apart from sending it back.
