3 weeks since cancellation and still connected

16/08/2013 - bought phone on contract thru tele sales. Told have 24-48 hrs after phone received to use prepaid airtime before activation. phone delivered 20/08 and by evening contract actvated and airtime deleted. Tried query via cust service ref to after sales - closed already. 21/08 called to query- told my fault and can't get airtime back referred to sales - no reply and mailbox full. Called after sales again and cancelled contract. Told must wait 3-5 days for collection of phone - must be onsite (I also work in field so my work disrupted). After 5 days called - no collection logged. Phone collected 2/09. Never told must cancel again after collection. Called 9/9 told no cancellation done. Each time a diff story and still liable for payment. didn't use phone or contract. disrupted work as had to change phone number. Refuse to use contract I cancelled. Just need this sorted out NOW. bought own new phone and can't use my number due to contract still activated. spent about R100 on calls to after sales already.
