Requested cancellation of contrdue to unemployment

I telephone Pre Legal dept on 3rd September 2013 requested cancellation of my contract owing to the fact that I have been unemployed for a year now and am no longer able to continue with my contract which only ends in July next year.

Firstly Mpolelo who assisted me was most abrupt on the telephone as if she was irritated at my call. Cell C, teach your staff some telephone manners!!!

She said that unless I can provide a retrenchment letter they could not help me.

Despite me having told her that I am a contractor and contracts expire, we are not retrenched as we are not permanent, she advised this once again.

With the economic climate of unemployment rising in this country, a persons circumstances can most definitely change in 2 years. She still has the check to reply, I have terms and conditions in the contract which must be fulfilled!!!

How on earth do they expect me to continue with a contract without any form of income???
