Phone Contract

I got a bank statement that showed that money was deducted from my account by vodacom for a contract upgrade that was taken using my details. I was due for an upgrade in a month and i didnt take it, the took a samsung S4 from a vodacom store using my details. What i don't understand is how the knew i was up for an upgrade and why was it easy to walk into a vodacom store and take a phone contract using my details. Why didnt the sales person want proof of Adress or ID.I dont trust vodacom anymore and I will not take contracts with them anymore because they can not protect my private information. I feel violated by vodacom because someone knows my particulars now im worried about what will happen to me and my finances because of the. Vodacom is dissapointing and the fact that no one has apologied is just disgusting
