Mtn
Billed for unknown data usage!!!

Telecommunications

I was recently slapped with a bill of over R600 for data usage. I signed a 24 month contract with MTN in July last year, which stipulated that I would get 2 gig's of data per month with my Apple Ipad 3 for R389.00. Last week I see that MTN has deducted over R600 from my account. I called MTN to find out what happened and was told that the extra charge was for additional data usage. Firstly, when I signed the contract I was told that I would either need to top up or wait for the new data to be activated the following month if my data was used up. If this is the case, why the am I being charged for additional data? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that one cannot use over 2 gig's of data in a month for checking e-mails and browsing the net. I have had this Ipad for over 12 months and not once have I exceeded my data usage. For one to use up 2 GIG's of data in a month they would need to do the following: Browse the net for 143 hours, send and receive 1459 e-mails without attachments, send and receive 275 e-mails with attachments, play online games for 89 minutes and spend 90 minutes on instant messaging.

Can you prove that I did all of this and more in one month?
