Taking forever to approce cellphone contract

I went to the Heita store in Greenstone to apply for a phone. I filled in my application on the 23rd of August, and handed in all the necessary documents. I was told that i would be informed on the status of my application later that day or latest Monday. I didn't hear anything from them, and on Thursday the 29th, i received a call from someone telling me that they have my application form, but it doesn't say what i am applying for and i haven't heard anything since then. Seriously, how long does it take to approve a cellphone application??? If Telkom doesn't need my business i can go to other networks because their service!
