NEW PHONE NEEDS PART REPLACED??? SERIOUSLY???

Would like to know how exactly it is that a phone bought brand new gets sent in for repairs and needs parts to be replaced? what nonsense is that? i didnt buy a repaired second hand phonei bought a new phone. secondly i will not pay for the contract on this phone as the phone has not worked since the first day i got it. how can i be held liable for the costs of the contract???

I want ths contract cancelled immediately!!! I will also be contacting the consumer council as well as every media platform i can to ake sure people stay away from this so called "reputable" service provide
