I ordered a new phone and contract over the phone from Cell C. It arrived and I requested they port my number, over the phone. They ported my number onto my boyfriend's phone (it's linked to my bank account number) and deactivated his sim. I was told to go to a shop who then had to call the same number to sort out the problem. Thankfully it could be fixed as his number had not yet been recycled.

Now I discover that I have not been signed up for the R199/m contract I requested, but that I'll be paying up to R400 at the end of the month. This latest issue will take working two days to resolve - so that I can spend the weekend incurring even more expenses, that I will, of course, be liable for even if they resolve the problem.

Further, I had asked, when buying the contract, that they email me the contract details. I have yet to receive anything, so of course I didn't pick this error up sooner. Had I, I would have returned the phone within the 5 day cool off period and told them to keep their contract.

I am horrified by the level of complete incompetence at every turn.
