Refuse to replace broken phone under warranty!

Cell C have absolutely no idea about customer services. My Blackberry broke 4 months ago while it was still under warranty and Cell C have refused to replace it.
It didn't break from damage to the exterior of the phone due to lack of care on my part. It was a software error. I have been without my phone for 4 months now.
I cannot understand how they can get away with providing a product that breaks under warranty and claim to still not be liable to replace it. They have been completely unhelpful and I feel totally helpless as even the 'guy at the top' seems to lack the necessary skills required in the service industry. There has been no show of care or remorse or acknowledgement of them being in the wrong in any way and I don't think any consumer should be treated this way.
They keep insisting on repairing the phone but it has been in repairs for 4 MONTHS!!!
How can a "reputable" company such as themselves get away with this ''.

I will never sign a contract with cell c again and will cancel this one as soon as I am able to.
