Before this I had had a lot of sub par service from Cell C.

In fact with this issue alone: I spoke to 10 people about a problem I had because I was told I can't keep my number as I move from from CellC to a RBM starter pack I already bought. Literally more than a hour spent on the phone, most of it holding while reps talk to leaders who say they don't think it can be done.

Until I get put through to the porting department for the second time and I get to Roy.

Roy patiently listened as I explained what I need and all the attempts that have failed. He summarised it in his own words, asked if he understood correctly. Gave a thoughtful pause, asked me if I was ok if he just moved the old number over to the new sim.

I was, he did, and we're done.

Cell C should put this guy in charge of training other reps. That same morning 2 different reps stated that they just had a meeting about this exact product and they still didn't know the solution because they were only told about porting and migrating -not- the number swop Roy did.

Knowing what to do, the ability to problem solve and fantastic phone manners these are all the reasons why Roy kicks.
