Mtn
Losing a Customer vs Commiting to Delivery

Telecommunications

My contract expired with Vodacom on 1/8/2013. I wanted to change to Mtn and had the process completed (the consultants were very efficient) but just needed the phone, docking station and sim card.

It's now entering the third week and I still have none of the above. This is because Mtn require that all three are given simultaneously. This branch does not have the package which was advertised on 1st August (False advertising??)

I asked them if they can commit to delivering the package on Monday (5 days time) if not, Vodacom's prices have been lowered and I'd rather stay with vodacom. They couldn't commit so I will now get my contract with Vodacom.

This is a real pity as I did want to change to Mtn.

I don't expect anything from Mtn at this moment, but if I am contacted before tomorrow and promised the package on Monday (without any further documentation required, as I have already terminated my application and would not want to begin the process again) then I will revert to Mtn as opposed to Vodacom.

I am aware of the lengths cell providers go through to attract customers from competing networks and it baffles me that they don't do their utmost to keep them interested.
