I have a Vodacom and MTN contract with Autopage and have never had any problems with any of these until last month when I was billed for R700 GPRS usage on my Vodacom account. Upon querying about this on the 19th of July, this usage stopped. I was subsequently called by a lady by the name of Sharon, who advised me that I was on incorrect BIS and this had been rectified. I enquired of the billing, and she promised to get back to me, till today. I logged into my account for my Data contract from MTN, when I noticed usage of my account at 12h00 midnight from an 0830000000 number. I queried this with their customer care, and a lady by the name of Phindi, promised to log a query. I then called MTN who advised me that they had no knowledge of such. I then phoned Altech again, and was assisted by a gentleman by the name of Nicholas, who advised me that if Altech says I was on the Internet at 12 midnight, then there is not much I can do as I am liable for the costs and my best option would be to lodge a case with the police. Is this so? According to my knowledge, it is myself and Altech that have access to my account. This is a very concerning sequence of events.
