Asked to pay a deposit

On two occasions i have been trying to take out the Simple ADLS package from Telkom. I sat on the phone for 30 minutes today doing the application only to be told in the end that i need to pay R700 deposit because i have a bad credit rating. BAD CREDIT RATING??? Do you know who i am??? or how much i earn???
