2 Days with Brand new Galaxy S4 that I Cannot Use

I received my brand new Galaxy S4 phone yesterday afternoon 13h00 - and I'm still unable to use it. I have done the necessary and called 083 123 9622 to register the sim - yet when I try and make a call - I'm told the service is suspended. When I try and call the above number to get actual assistance from a human being, I hold on for ages with nobody answering the telephone - in fact the line is just dead. What the h e l l - so what is the point of me taking our this R8, 000 contract. I might just as well return the phone to MTN.
