No longer customer but still ruining my day

I have experienced every kind of consumer displeasure with an account I had several years ago and it still haunts me. I once had a talk account which I downgraded (2010). I was however still billed for the original and cancelled the 3rd incorrect debit which caused cancellation of my account and number. I therefore no longer existed on Vodacom's system to arrange a resolution. After months and dozens of calls, different stories and being promised that I would be called back, I arranged a debit of the outstanding amount and I considered the matter settled. I was eventually contacted by Vodacom more than a year later (2012) and told I still owe an amount which I immediately paid. More than a year after that, I have learnt that I have be placed onto ITC and again I am trying to contact Vodacom to get a letter confirming that I have paid up the account and yet again I am told that my ID does not reflect on their system. I finally got through to the legal dept and arranged for a letter to be mailed to me but a week later I still have not received anything. I spoke to a consultant from pre-legal earlier today and I am still waiting for a call... This has been VERY unpleasant.
