I converted my mweb package from 3g mobile to adsl. In doing so I needed to purchase a wireless router from mweb, which I did (Billion N73X router - R650). After one month, the router packed up completely as confirmed through mweb technical. I went to exchange and was told to hand in the router for repair, resulting in me having no mweb access for whatever period. I requested that the 'Billion Model' be exchanged to the 'Netgear' model router. I was told to purchase outright and would later get a refund. I subsequently purchased the second router for R! 000. I had now paid R1650 for two routers. i received no further communication from Mweb. Upon querying this I have been told that I can now collect a new Billion router. I stated that I wanted a refund for the broken router as I had already purchased the preferred 'Netgear Router' and was flatly refused and told to take a replacement 'Billion' router. What I am supposed to do with 2 routers when I only require 1? This saga has been unnacceptable to me and shocking service delivery as well as being a potential contravention ito of the consumer protection act. I am expecting an executive response!!
