TELKOM WILL NOT HELP. THEY CLAIM THEY CANNOT

I purchased a Telkom recharge voucher, in error, which has not been redeemed or used, not realising that it was a Telkom Landline Recharge Voucher and not a Telkom Mobile / 8ta recharge voucher, which is what I need.

I spoke to the very friendly Call Centre Agents a 8TA "On Net" (many of them) who really did try to help but couldn't.

I have received this response from Telkom / 8ta, "We and Telkom, are 2 different business entities with different products and services hence we are unable to convert."

I'm sorry I don't buy that. 8ta is "powered" by Telkom. 8ta belongs to Telkom. My browser directs me to "Telkom Mobile."

Just to make sure I called the 8ta call centre and spoke to Gugulethu Lendani who confirmed to me that whilst both 8ta and Telkom are two different business entities, 8ta is owned by Telkom and indeed 8ta is "powered by Telkom".

A company that makes Millions of Rands a month from the South African public cannot convert this voucher or indeed provide me an 8ta Data voucher in place of the Telkom I bought smacks of arrogance, bad PR, bad service, a lack of customer centricity and a "don't care attitude".

This is just bad service from Telkom all over again
